Soul is dead

My wounds are deep,
They hurt as they’re touched.
So I hide them away,
So nobody can try to mend each hole.
My despair is thick,
Heavy like a blanket on my soul.
These shadows linger,
Waiting. Longing for me to suffer more,
And close my eyes to sleep.
Frustrated and angry,
I cry out to my God,
The physician who heals my heart.
And He stiches up each abrasion upon my soul.
I can’t travel alone anymore,
The anguish of weights upon my shoulders causes me to fall too often to remain in spirit.
So He lifts me, carries me, holds me as the tears wrench my body.
I can’t take this anymore!
My Savior, I cry out to You,
The only one to make me strong as I fly,
Gives me rest when I’m weary,
And life when I’m spiritless.
